NITROFEST!
If you haven't seen it yet, you've just got to check out the TV ad for this event, by clicking here. Please note that there won't be any Top Alcohol Dragsters (unless someone shows up to test) in attendance, and some of the funny cars shown in the ad won't be there either. Just a little caveat courtesy of the "truth in advertising" gang. If you listen to local rock radio stations, like CFMI 101, you'll certainly hear all about this race too. Like the cliche goes, just "BE THERE!"
The Weather Report
This section is pretty much a no-brainer. With nothing but sunshine for the rest of the month, and fairly reasonable - low 20's C - temperatures in the weekend forecast, conditions should be about as good as can be for a summer race at Mission. In case you really want a look an official look at what the weather will be, check out the Weather Network for the final word.
The Entry List
We apologize for the lack of information about some of the competitors, and we're sure a few racers are missing from these lists altogether, but we will do our best to fill in the blanks on Friday when we head out to see the test 'n tune at the track. In the meantime, we'll do our best to erase some of the gaps in the knowledge database. And please don't get out the calculator just yet, as we realize that there's "only" 28 cars on this list of the "32 Funny Cars". Where are the missing cars, Dean?

In addition to the above mentioned categories and competitors, there will be a Comp Eliminator field, with at least 15 solid cars entered already. Northwest "hitters" like local Rob "RedLIght" Harrison, Terry Spargo, Bob Marshall, Bruce Perkin and Casey Plazier and Dale Giroux from Alberta will duke it out with some tough stateside competitors like Frank Nelson, Mark Wolfe, Ray Hadford, Pat Byron and Jim Warter.
The Nitro Harleys will be back again too, with 13 of the Top V-Twins from the West Coast, Alberta and the Northwest U.S. battling it out on two, and quite often, one wheel for nitro harley supremacy. All the usual suspects such as multi-time champion Ron Houniet, Ken Kent, Jason Arkinstall and Damien Cowden, among others, will be in attendance.
Just to add to the excitement, the Pro Street gang will be strutting their stuff with a wide rage of six-second "streeters" trading burnouts and trying to blow each others' doors off. Top local racers such as Trevor Lowe, Jay Syvertsen, and the Moznik brothers will be joined by Alberta's Dean Branham with his insane 210+ mph early model 'Cuda and Washington state heavies Garrett Richards with the incredible body shredding pickup truck and Yvonne Lucas in her new '68 Camaro Pro Mod.
Don't be surprised to see a few more last minute local entries too. Speaking of which, where the heck is Don Murray and his crazy Corvette or Glen Braid and the "Mighty Mouse" car?
