The latest update as of June 27, 2025
19th annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals - Norwalk, OH
When you have 9 of the top 10 Top Alcohol Dragsters in the current points standings in attendance, you've got the makings of one heck of an event. The weather conditions are just okay, with density altitude readings over 3500 ft for the first qualifying session for the blown alky cars. The 12 Funny Cars almost all got down the track in good order, with the top 8 of them in the 5.60's or better, led by multi-time and reigning world champion Sean Bellemeur with a 5.541 - 262.39 pass. On the dragster side, there were several tire smoking runs, one fail to fire, and at the top were two Canadian drivers.
Leading the way was Top Alcohol rookie McKenna Bold (Red Deer, AB) in a Randy Meyer team car, with a very strong 5.256- 268.17Shawn Cowie (Langley, BC) with a great 5.258 - 274.83 effort. With one more qualifying session later today, and one tomorrow morning, they're both off to a good start for the event.
More news from Norwalk this evening. And some Tulsa Nitro Nationals news too. Look for it!
