The latest update as of August 16, 2021

Here's the first two pictures from our coverage of the Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals held two weeks ago at Pomona's Auto Club Raceway. It's the top two performers in Top Alcohol Dragster; a great way to start our coverage, courtesy of Bill Jeffery. There's many, many more to come over the next few days.

TAD - Joey Severance --- TAD - Shawn Cowie

(LEFT) Making a Friday qualifying pass, Oregon's Joey Severance took the top spot after two of the three sessions, with a great - for the conditions - 5.325 - 270.21. That was a major improvement over his tire-shaking, shutoff pass of 7.489 in the first round of qualifying.

(RIGHT) Holding down the second spot was perennial national contender, British Columbia's Shawn Cowie who followed up a good 5.384 - 271.95 with an even better 5.340 - 275.22 to hold down the second spot on the ladder.

NHRA Top Alcohol Dragster & Funny Car Standings

In the two weeks between the Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals (Pomona, CA) and this past weekend's Menard's NHRA Nationals (Topeka, KS), there's also been two regional events (Great Bend, KS & Indianapolis, IN) and all those races have resulted in some major changes in the Top Alcohol national points standings.

TAFC National Points Standings - August 15, 2021

We've just started working on a huge pile of photos from the Winternationals, courtesy of our good friend, Bill Jeffery, who is planning to attend the U.S. Nationals on Labor Day weekend. In the meantime, we'll be posting all of his great work from Pomona as soon as we can find enough time to do so. As always: stay tuned!
