Final Rounds

C Final - Jade Cook (near lane) vs Chris Schneider
(far lane)

Continuing her strong run of success in an amazing rookie year on the FCC circuit, Jade Cook (near lane) in her aptly named "Nemesis" took the win over veteran Chris Schneider (far lane) in the Mustang-bodied "Brutus" entry. We haven't seen any of the round sheets yet but Cook's second win of the season, along with two runner-ups may have moved her all the way up the ladder to the #3 position, from the #7 spot she occupied before this event

B Final - Shayne Lawson (near lane) vs Keith Jackson
(far lane)

Finally breaking through for his first win (and first final round) of the season, Shayne Lawson (near lane) in the iconic "Man O' War" Mustang, took the win over the high-country Camaro of the Jackson family, the "High Heaven", wheeled by Keith Jackson. Lawson has most likely moved up two spots in the standings, from his #10 position coming into the weekend

A Final - Ken Singleton (near lane) vs Kirk Williams
(far lane)

The final race of the night, for the BIG bucks and trophy featured the #1 and #2 racers in the FCC world, with Ken Singleton (near lane) in his very familiar (in almost every final round) "High Risk" entry, facing his toughest opponent all season, Kirk Williams (far lane) in the "Williams Bros. Racing" car, and they put on another great battle that saw the winlight come on in Singleton's lane. In his sixth consecutive final round, Singleton notched his fourth win of the year and lengthened the points lead over his very worthy opposition. Williams took his third runner-up of the year in his fifth final round

POST-RACE WRAPUP

The FUNNY CAR CHAOS points system has a "drop" race system, whereby a racer can waive their lowest points earning race from their season total before the final points standings are determined. If a racer doesn't attend a race, that event becomes their drop race, which helps lower budget racers who can't afford to travel to every race, especially ones far from home. Only one racer in the Top Ten has skipped an event this year, that being Jade Cook and she is currently looking good for at least a Top Five finish. With only the World Finals remaining on the calendar, at San Antonio's Alamo City Motorplex on October 1-2, it's going to be quite a battle for the final placings in the season's points standings.
