WHAT'S NEW

The latest update as of May 30, 1998

There's been a lot happening in the past two weeks; so much that we haven't been able to update the news or finish any of the new additions and improvements to the site. Unfortunately the news couldn't be any worse for readers of the much-read "RaceWest Partsline" and the many friends of Don Stephenson. The following few lines can't begin to describe the loss of one of the nicest people in drag racing. I only knew Don for the past few years, but always felt honoured that he would talk to me and show much interest in my projects. Speaking for myself (and surely many others as well), I will truly miss him. Godspeed, Don.

RaceWest Partsline Obituary

On the "up-side", I'll be flying to Australia later today, to attend the Australian WINTERNATIONALS in Brisbane. With 10 days remaining before the race, 497 entries have been received already, making this the largest drag racing event ever downunder, and possibly the largest ever outside North America. It should be a helluva show! You can follow the qualifying and eliminations results on an almost "real-time" basis by visiting Willowbank Raceway's Winternationals Results page. Then read my "slant" on the action right here, posted as soon as I return to Canada on June 14th.

And I promise that before the end of June, the upgrades to the site will be finished, including many more photos (new and old); the story of Ken Lowe (Australian chassis builder and former NHRA Alcohol Dragster ace); and the full story of SAINTY Speed Works, home of the revolutionary Billet Three Valve racing engine. You'll just have to be patient until then!
