The latest update as of November 9, 1998

This update will be (of necessity) a quick one, but come back on Monday evening for the complete version. I'm off to work again in a few minutes: fifty-five days/nights/whatevers in a row; and still counting, but first some news from downunder.

Rob Oberg from Brisbane was the first to tip me to the results from Saturday night's action at Adelaide International Raceway. His e-mail message provided the highlights and the results came from Adelaide Raceway's own website. To see the numbers, visit our Results Page. We've also got the Australian Top Fuel points updated on our Points Standings page.

Before I go, let me congratulate Rachelle Splatt on a very successful return to top fuel racing (she won!) and Romeo Capitanio on his first 4-second runs (Low ET of 4.94). Good on ya' mates! The race itself, the ANDRA Springnationals was a great success on all counts, with a standing room only crowd packing the mounds for Saturday night's eliminations. Despite all the doom and gloom about the downunder drag scene currently making the rounds, the sport showed some new life with a great start to the 1998-99 season.

More news later today (Monday), including the debut of BACKFIRE !!
