WHAT'S NEW

in the world of drag racing

Black Bar

The latest update as of May 18, 1998

Welcome to the new and much-improved NORTHERN THUNDER website. Three months of trial and (mostly) error has finally resulted in a site that is starting to look like something. The big push was Larry Pfister's "top of the page" link from his now-defunct " Horsepower Heaven 2 " site. Announcing this page as "the next best thing" was high praise indeed, and forced me into several long nights of "coding" to bring my site up to it's current level. Keep watching as we improve and expand in the coming months.

The newest and "hottest" addition is of course the AUSSIE DRAG BABES page, which will be updated regularly as time permits. And you thought it was just the competition and the weather that was dragging me off to Australia !

The world of drag racing took another big step forward last weekend, as "some old truck driver from California" pushed his front-engined fueler to the all-time fastest speed recorded in the history of the sport ! John Force set the all-time standard at 323.89 mph, and backed it up with a 323.35 for the national record and even more "bragging points". Hey all you dragster guys, let's get this situation rectified pronto! No "plastic coffin" should be faster than the real acceleration machines ... TOP FUEL DRAGSTERS. Full results of the dragster racing from the NHRA MOPAR Parts Nationals at Englishtown, New Jersey can be viewed at our RESULTS menu.
