The latest update as of March 22, 1998

Through the magic of the internet, nearly instant results of the 1998 TAC Nationals from Melbourne's Calder Park Raceway have been made available for early viewing. Check it out by visiting the Results Menu and also view the NHRA PENNZOIL Nationals results from Houston, Texas immediately after the completion of the event on Sunday, March 22nd.

In local racing news, it was "situation normal" at Mission Raceway Park yesterday, as a single check-out pass by Pat Austin was followed by a downpour, estimated to last roughly until the next race weekend. After a very hard launch, major tire-shake set in for Austin and he had to abort the run with his new Alan Johnson canted-valve head combination. Scheduled to test Saturday, Sunday and Monday at Mission, the Austins' hurriedly loaded up and left with no prospect of more testing before the first Division 6 Federal-Mogul Series race in Boise, Idaho on April 10-12th. Fellow Tacoma resident, Dale Carlson, in his rebuilt Brad Hadman dragster was unable to turn a tire before the rain came and got zero results for his trip to Mission. The local (B.C.) Top Alcohol dragster of Bob Haffner didn't appear this weekend, but laid down a promising .983 60' coupled with a 3.82 - 194 half-track time last Saturday, March 14th.
