The latest update as of February 12, 1998

Partial results are in from the 4th round of the Australian Top Fuel Championship Series held on January 31st at Calder Park, Melbourne. Glenn Mikres win plus bonus points for Top Speed has tied him for the series points lead with Graeme Cowin, who lost in the sem-finals with clutch problems. Low qualifier (and local crowd favourite) Romeo Capitanio lost his chance to meet Mikres in the final when he crashed the car while backing up from his semi-final burnout. He was on a solo run when the incident occurred. Full details of the meet will provided as soon as possible. In the meantime, visit our Results Menu to see what information we've got on the event.

All the results are in from the NHRA CHIEF Auto Parts Winternationals, held January 31st - February 2nd at the L.A. County Fairplex at Pomona, California. Tremendous early season performances in Top Fuel and Federal-Mogul Dragster may only be a precursor to a banner year for the classes in 1998. See all the results (qualifying and eliminations) by visiting our Results Menu.

The Canadian drag racing season will attempt to start on the earliest date ever, next weekend, February 21st-22nd at Mission Raceway Park, near Vancouver, BC.After losing nearly half the schedule to rain in 1997, the B.C. Custom Car Association which owns and operates the NHRA Division Six facility, has decided an earlier start may yield more completed race dates this year. For a look at the complete 1998 schedule visit our Mission Raceway Schedule page.
